Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that preparations for his upcoming white wedding to wife Chioma have already cost about $3.7 million in cash.
“We’ve spent $3.7 million in cash. So, you should know what we are doing. It’s going to be crazy,” the 32-year-old singer said in a video shared on Instagram by fellow artiste Teni.
The couple, who arrived in Miami this week aboard a private jet adorned with floral decorations and a seat marked “MRS,” are set to host the lavish event this weekend. The ceremony was initially scheduled for August.
Their pre-wedding party featured Davido in a white hat, blue suit jacket, white trousers, and Ankara fabric over his shoulders, while Chioma stunned in a short white gown. A bold “Chivido. Miami. 2025” display welcomed guests, including Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Teni, Tunde Ednut, and Poco Lee.
Family members, including Davido’s cousin B-Red, were also in attendance. Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, the singer’s uncle, is among the expected high-profile guests.
This will be the third wedding for the couple, following a court wedding in March 2023 and a traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024 that drew politicians, celebrities, and dignitaries.
Davido and Chioma, who met over a decade ago at Babcock University, went public with their relationship in 2018 when Davido released his hit single Assurance in her honour. They later faced a public breakup and the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022, but reunited and welcomed twins in the U.S. in 2023.
The Miami celebration is expected to be one of the most extravagant celebrity weddings of the year, adding another chapter to one of Nigeria’s most followed love stories.
