The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), Ben Kure, has accused former governor Nasir El-Rufai of failing to accord fairness to the people of Southern Kaduna during his administration.
Kure, who once served as a media aide to El-Rufai and also directed his campaign, made the allegation on Monday while speaking on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television.
“What he’s saying is nothing but the peddling of falsehood. Let me be clear and categorical: having served him and being the director-general of his campaign, he did not even find us worthy of respect, let alone treat our people with fairness,” Kure said.
He added that despite putting aside opposition from Southern Kaduna elders to support El-Rufai’s rise to power, the former governor allegedly sidelined the region.
“I fought my elders to a standstill to ensure that we brought Malam Nasir El-Rufai to government, and all he did was exclude us and treat the Southern Kaduna people like lepers,” he stated.
Kure further accused El-Rufai of fostering division, saying: “That was what he needed. He joined the heads of Kaduna State and sharply divided Kaduna State.”
