The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed receipt of a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving renowned musician Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as KWAM 1).
The petition alleges that on August 5, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Mr. Marshal engaged in unruly conduct that obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, contravening the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.
In response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure appropriate action is taken.
The Force reiterated its commitment to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector and pledged to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to ensure strict compliance with aviation laws.
