Nigeria and Türkiye are set to deepen bilateral relations as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embarks on an official visit that will feature high-level political, diplomatic, and economic engagements between both countries.
According to the Presidency, the visit will focus on advancing shared interests in critical sectors including finance, communication, trade, and investment, as both nations seek to strengthen long-standing ties and expand areas of cooperation.
The programme includes strategic meetings between senior government officials from Nigeria and Türkiye, aimed at enhancing collaboration across key sectors. Several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) are also expected to be signed during the visit, covering areas such as scientific research, energy development, technical cooperation, media and communications, military collaboration, and diplomatic protocol.
In addition to government-level engagements, a Nigeria–Türkiye business forum will be held on the sidelines of the visit. The forum will bring together investors and business leaders from both countries to explore new opportunities for partnership, promote private-sector collaboration, and drive mutual economic growth.
The Presidency noted that the visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to expanding international partnerships that support economic development, technology transfer, and strategic cooperation, while reinforcing Türkiye’s role as a key partner in Nigeria’s foreign policy and investment drive.
