Nigeria’s vice-captain, Victor Osimhen, says the Super Eagles are fully confident, united, and focused ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash against host nation Morocco.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Osimhen dismissed any suggestion that the team is under pressure, stressing that the players view the match as an opportunity rather than a burden.
“The Super Eagles are approaching this game with confidence, not fear. For us, this is an opportunity, not a burden,” the Galatasaray forward said.
Osimhen acknowledged the high expectations from Nigerian fans but noted that the squad is drawing strength from their unity and belief in one another.
“We understand what our people expect from us, and we respect that. But we also believe in each other, and that collective belief is what drives us,” he added.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey to the semi-finals, Osimhen attributed the team’s success to discipline, resilience, and togetherness.
“Our progress in this tournament has been built on hard work, resilience, discipline, and unity. Now our focus is on executing the game plan and giving our best on the pitch,” he said.
Nigeria will face Morocco in a high-stakes semi-final with a place in the AFCON final on the line.
